Scarlett had a party with her friends at a gym. Little Billy and I were glad we could join for the last half of the party.
Sunday, May 29
We had a family dinner + party to celebrate her.
Austin brought his pizza stone for the smoker, and I made a couple pan pizzas.
Just as we were getting ready to light the candles, a double rainbow showed up, so we couldn't resist taking a photo break.
Since this was Scarlett's actual 8th birthday, the rainbow was the perfect touch.
We lit the candles for Scarlett...
...and lit some candles for Kody (he has a May birthday also).
It was a perfect way to celebrate - with family, pizza, cake, and rainbows.
Wednesday, June 1
The past few years I have taken Scarlett to lunch and then shopping to pick out a birthday gift. This has been such a fun tradition, I hope she'll want to do it for years to come.
The past two years we have had lunch at Panda. We have sat at the same outside table. We talked about how we had been there the year before, and had a delightful conversation about life.
This year we also had a bird friend join us.
After lunch we went to Walmart and shopped all around. I can't remember what Scarlett ended up choosing for her gift, but I kind of wish I would have bought her this hat... it is so darn cute on her.
I love spending time with her.
